Flying inland from Swakopmund via the Kuiseb Canyon to Gobabeb Desert research Station, Tsondabvlei, Sesriem Canyon over flying Sossusvlei (which has among the highest dunes in the world), Forbidden diamond area where the remains of the old camps can still be seen onwards till we reach the coast at Conception Bay. From here we fly coastwise over the Eduard Bohlen shipwreck(stranded in 1909), Shauwnee Shipwreck (stranded in 1976), “Lange wand” a 500 feet high dune rising from the water’s edge, Sandwich harbor, Walvisbay Lagoon(with a great variety of bird life), the salt pans, Walvisbay Harbour back to Swakopmund.

As described in our Sossusvlei Scenic flight, with landing at Sossusvlei Lodge airstrip. Accompanied by a guide you will be driven in a 4×4 vehicle into the Sossusvlei Dunes. Time at leisure in Sossusvlei, with lunch at the lodge. When you are ready, you will be transferred to the airstrip and we continue our flight as described in our Sossusvlei scenic along the coast.

If you want an aerial impression of the surrounding area or want to enjoy a sundowner in the sky, this is for you! Sit back, relax and enjoy the banquet of aerial views. We head southward to Sandwich Harbour which is one of Southern Africa’s greatest natural bird sanctuaries. From sandwich Harbour, we overfly the harbor of Walvisbay from where the pelican Point Lighthouse can be seen. Soaring along the coast, the recreational resorts Dolphin Beach and Longbeach come into view. With the sun almost setting, your pilot will prepare for landing.

You will enjoy a guided city tour of this quaint town and visit Namibia’s most famous ghost town, Kolmanskop. From Swakopmund, this flight takes you over Rossing Uranium Mine, Spitzkoppe (the “Matterhorn” of Namibia), Brandberg which is Namibia’s highest Mountain and is famous for it’s rock paintings like the White Lady. After Brandberg we continue flying along the Uniab Riverbed towards the coast. Here you must keep an eye out for desert elephants, ostrich, oryx and other game. Reaching the coast we overfly Palgrave point (the site of many dramatic sea rescues), Cape Cross which has the largest seal colony in Africa, Henties Bay, the holiday town of Wlotskabaken back to Swakopmund.

As described in the Coast of Loneliness Scenic only with landing at Cape Cross airstrip. Here you will be met by a guide who will pick u up at the airstrip and accompany you to the seal colony. Cape Cross has the largest seal colony with a population of 250,000. After the visit to the colony you will enjoy a light lunch at the Lodge and continue on a scenic flight along the coast back to Swakopmund.

Early morning flight from Swakopmund via Spitzkoppe, Brandberg Mountain landing at Opuwo (capital of Kaokoland). Accompanied by a guide and translator you will visit the Ovahimba tribe in their village which consists of simple huts that are built of Mopani branches, mud and dung. We get to know the traditions, their way of living, jewelry, beliefs and rituals of these people who still live as they did hundreds of years ago. After lunch at Opuwo Country Lodge, you will be transferred to the airstrip. On the way back to Swakopmund we will overflyteh Hoarusib riverbed towards the coast, flying low-level along the skeleton coast, Toscanini, Cape Cross and Hentiesbay.
