Wings Over Africa offer various scenic flights all over Namibia ranging from one hour trips to full day trips.
Southern Namibia destinations include the huge Sossusvlei Dunes, the desolate Diamond Coast and spectacular Fish River Canyon. Northern Namibia destinations include the Skeleton Coast, Cape Cross Seal Colony and the Spitzkoppe mountains.
The name of the country is derived from the Namib Desert, considered to be the oldest desert in the world. Before gaining independence in 1990, the area was known first as German South-West Africa (Deutsch-Südwestafrika), then as South-West Africa. Being situated between the Namib and the Kalahari deserts, Namibia is the country with the least rainfall in sub-Saharan Africa.
